Dehydrated skin is a skin condition. Anyone, irrespective of the kind of skin they were born with, can get dehydrated skin.

Do the pinch test on your skin. Pinch a small portion of your skin, pull it, and then let it go. Does the skin take longer to return to its original place?

If yes, there is a high chance of your skin being dehydrated. Move to the next question.

Do you have a dry skin type? Dry skin usually is dry all over. Dry skin soaks up any skincare oil or cream you apply on the skin. In the mornings, after you wake up, if you rub your hand on dry skin, you will find no trace of any oil. So, do you think you have dry skin?

Has your makeup suddenly started settling in creases?

If yes, there is a high chance your skin is dehydrated. Dehydrated skin causes fine lines, which cause makeup to settle in these lines and give it an uneven texture. We can temporarily overcome this problem by applying a primer evenly all over our face.

Is your skin more inflammed, sensitive, and redder than normal?

If yes, there is a high chance your skin is dehydrated.


The good and the bad

Bad news:
There is a fine line between dry and dehydrated skin. It is hard to tell the difference. Hopefully, the quiz helped.

Good news:
If you can’t tell the difference, don’t sweat. It’s okay.
If you have an inclining that your skin could be dehydrated, your skin could be dehydrated for real.
Do what you need to do regarding your skincare routine to fix the issue. Even if the skin is not dehydrated, the benefits from the routine won’t go to waste. In fact, the dehydrated skin care routine should be a part of your regular routine. You never know when skin can become dehydrated, so regularly do what you need to do to keep it from becoming dehydrated.
